Delhi: Departing from an earlier practice of Additional judges’ performance being reviewed by High Court Judges, a committee of two Supreme Court Judges will now evaluate the judgments of AJ’s of High Courts and decide whether they should be promoted as permanent judges.
The Collegium, comprising Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and Justices J Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph, took this decision in a meeting on Thursday.
