Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani condemned that arrest of Shahid Yousuf, son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah alias Syed Salahaudin, the supreme commander of militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
“Government of India though the policy of coercion is make an abortive attempt to overwhelm pro-freedom leaders. Syed Salahudin is the pyramid of ongoing struggle who served his entire life for freedom of Jammu and Kashmir,” Geelani said in a statement issued here.
The octogenarian leader said that New Delhi ‘failed’ in all efforts to weaken Salahudin’s resolve.
“Now the GoI has resorted to cheap tactics and such attempts would no yield anything also,” he said.
