Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday welcomed the Union governments of starting a dialogue with all stake holders in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference in Civil Secretariat Srinagar, Mehbooba without naming Hurriyat said that all stake holders should respond positively to the offer so that guns will stop blazing.
”All those who are well wishers of people and yearn for peace should revert positively to the call of Union government,” the chief minister said.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that the government of India will start a “sustained” dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir and former Intelligence Bureau director Dineshwar Sharma has been appointed as the GoI’s representative.
“Centre has decided to start a ‘sustained’ dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir, with former Intelligence Bureau director Dineshwar Sharma appointed as the Centre’s representative,” he said addresiing a press conference in New Delhi, adding, “The government is going to address the legitimate apprehensions of the state populace and try to restore peace in the valley.”
