Kulgam: A team of five doctors from the Government Medical College, Srinagar on Sunday visited the District Hospital, Kulgam to interact with the braid chopping victims.
The team interacted with 18 victims, out of the 38 reported incidents in the district. “The purpose of the visit was to provide psychiatric counseling to the victims so that they can be taken out of the post-trauma stress disorder at an earliest.  Meanwhile, the doctors advised the families of the victims to console them so that they are able to lead a normal life. They also advised the attendants to engage the victims in other chores so that they can recuperate in shortest possible time from the psychological trauma.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Special Investigation Composite Team has already been constituted to investigate into the matter.
The team of doctors will be submitting the report to the higher authorities for perusal and corrective measures.
The team of doctors was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Talat Parvez Rohella, Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent District Hospital and other officers.
