Srinagar: Police on Friday arrested an alleged rumourmonger from Zakura area in outskirts of Srinagar.
A police official said that Police took cognizance of rumour mongering on social media and arrested Umar Khaliq of Wanihama Zakura.
“He was spreading rumours and causing disturbances to peace and harmony. Legal action has been initiated,” the police said and urged people not to engage in rumour mongering as it leads to disturbances. “Necessary action will be taken against all such criminal elements,” the official added.
