Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) continued their questioning to the member of J&K legislative assembly (MLA) for the third consecutive day.
Sheikh Abdul Rashid alias Engineer Rashid is being questioned in New Delhi and it will continue on Thursday.
According to NIA spokesperson Alok Mittal said, “Questioning of Er Rashid is going on and he has been called for it once again on Thursday and is being questioned in alleged funding case.”
The NIA on May 30 had registered a case in alleged funding to resistance groupings in J&K and has arrested ten persons.
The detained persons include seven top pro-freedom leaders, a top business man, a photo-journalist.
Rashid is an independent lawmaker who won twice from Langate constituency in Handwara since 2008. Rashid is the founder and ‘patron’ of The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Ittehad Party
His spokesperson, Inam-un-Nabi, told INS that Rashid is continuously questioned from 10 am to 7 pm from last two days and has been called for Thursday as well for questioning.
