Baramullah: In yet another incident of braid chopping, unknown persons cut the hair of a girl in Khwaja bagh area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir on Thursday.

Identity of the girl has not been disclosed till now. according to initial reports the family belongs to Uri and is living in the private quarters in the area since a decade. The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday.

Unknown persons cut the braid of  sixth standard school girl in Noorbagh area of Srinagar today while an attempt was foiled in bandipora, attacker however managed to escape.

On Wednesday unknown persons struck at Kaw muhalla of old city and in wanbal area of Srinagar.  In the late evening braid chopping incident was reported from Tral.

The incidents have spooked population while police have issued helplines and cash reward for information too has been announced.

No breakthrough has been made by police till now.

In Baramulla district an alleged braid chopped was handed over to police after people thrashed him to pulp. Police later said that the boy is not a braid chopper but was in relationship with a local girl.

In Bemina area of Srinagar two boys were caught and thrashed over accusations of being braid choppers.
