The 33-year-old woman Geeta Tomar and her 24-year-old domestic help Vikas were arrested on Friday for murdering her father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law.

The woman had frequent disputes with her in-laws over property worth Rs 18 crore. Geetas ‘drug addict’ husband allegedly committed suicide six months ago.

“The accused used to watch TV shows like ‘Crime Patrol’ and ‘Savdhaan India’ to get ideas to commit the murder. Geeta and Vikas discussed the crime stories and framed their plan after watching these crime-based TV shows,” Ajit Singh, SHO Ramgarh police station, Alwar was quoted by Hindustan Times.

They burnt bodies of father-in-law, Satpal Tomar (65), a retired army officer, and mother-in-law, Pushpa (60), at Naugaon village in Rajasthan’s Alwar district. The half-burnt body of Geeta’s brother-in-law, Pankaj Kumar (38), was found at Nagina area of Haryana’s Mewat district, HT reported.
