Peace, harmony must remain in J&K: LG Sinha offers prayers at Kheer Bhawani Temple

Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, underlining that his teachings of non-violence and co-existence are as relevant today as these were then.
In her message on the occasion, the Chief Minister described Mahatma Gandhi as the tallest leader of his time whose teachings of non-violence and co-existence are as relevant today as these were then.
Mehbooba Mufti said it was the vision and farsightedness in this great leader which made him to see the ray of hope in Kashmir in 1947 when the entire sub-continent was engulfed in the frenzy of violence and hatred. “This great leader understood and recognised the peaceful nature of the people of the State and made a historic mention of the same. People of the State pay tributes to him on this day”, she said in her message.
