Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association re-elected Mian Abdul Qayoom as president. Qayoom defeated Nazir Ahmad Ronga in a direct contest on Thursday. In all, 12 candidates were in fray for various posts of the lawyers’ body.
The elections were originally scheduled on September 7 but were deferred for today because of the issuance of notice to the President of the Bar Association Mian qayoom by NIA.
For the post of Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar defeated Mohammad Ashraf Bhat.
For the post of General Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen emerged triumphed by defeating Shabir Ahmad Butt while Aadil Asimi won against Asrar Ahmad and Ishrat-Ul-Nissa for the post of Joint Secretary.
For Treasure, Sameer Ahmad Wani defeated Zahoor Ahmad Bhat.
