Experts converge at 5-day workshop on environment conservation at NIT Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A five-day national workshop ‘Connecting People to Nature’ organized by Department of Chemical Engineering begun in National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar.

During the workshop lectures will be delivered by various prominent personalities from across the country including Dr. V.C Srivastava, IIT Roorkee, Dr V Sirvasbramanian Director PERC Chennai, IST/IIT Dhanbad Prof. I.M Mishra, IIT Roorkee Dr. Vimal Kumar, and N.I.T Trichy Dr. Anantharaman.

“Issues related to the need for taking measures to safe guard the environment for the wellbeing of the humanity and functioning of the economy depending on the responsible management of the natural resources would also be discussed,” organisers said.

The workshop is aimed to provide a forum for ‘exchanging the ideas among the scientists, technocrats with diverse backgrounds, and at the same time involve officials of various government agencies responsible for policy making and environmental conservation’.
