Traffic police Tuesday said that the road is blocked due to ‘occurring of landslide at Modh Passi (Udhampur)’.

“Therefore, no movement of any sort of traffic shall be allowed on the NHW, either from Srinagar or Jammu,” Traffic police said.

To ensure that vehicles don’t try to trespass the road ‘all the cops shall ensure that strong nakas, in coordination with District Police, are established at appropriate places, in their respective jurisdictions to implement the directions’.

“The Dy.SsP/DTIs are directed that the stranded vehicles are not parked in any landslide/ vulnerable zone of NHW, especially from Jawahar Tunnel – Ramban under any circumstances. The said road stretch is vulnerable/slide prone zone and therefore should be kept free from all sorts of traffic to avoid any eventuality,” traffic police said.
