Srinagar: Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh will address a press conference at Hari Niwaz here on Monday and not SKICC as announced earlier, an official statement said.
“The venue of the Press Conference to be addressed by the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh at 11.00 am on September 11 has been relocated to Hari Niwas, Gupkar Road from SKICC,” an official spokesman said.
Singh arrived on 4-day visit on weekend with “open mind” and “ready to meet anyone who wishes to interact with him as the government wants resolution of all the problems.”
During his four-day visit Singh will visit south Kashmir’s Anantnag today followed by visit to Jammu and Rajouri in next two days. On first day of his visit, Rajnath met 35 delegations comprising various social, trade, travel and business organizations from Kashmir Valley, an official spokesman said.
Reports said that all shops, private offices, most petrol pumps, business establishments are closed.
He visited the J&K Police Lines and CRPF camp in Anantnag district of south Kashmir on second day of the visit and announced that bullet proof vests and vehicles will be provided at all police stations. He also announced to provide helicopters to CRPF.
