Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership on Monday strongly condemned the notice issued to President Kashmir High Court Bar Association Mian Qayoom by the NIA.
In a statement, the leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik termed the notice as fabrication tactics. “Such acts will severe nothing and will deteriorate the situation to worse,” they said.
Mian Abdul Qayoom, they said, is honest and God fearing person so every Kashmir have full faith in his integrity and honesty.
“Harassing the Bar leader is aimed to silence him, because he is supporting the cause of people of Jammu Kashmir and defending the detainees and under-trial prisoners who have been kept behind the bars without any trial,” they said.
India, they said, needs to realize that the “legitimate struggle of the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination cannot be wished away by such tactics and the people of the Jammu and Kashmir will not be subjugated through such oppressive measures.”
