Scattered light rains forecast in Kashmir, dry weather in Jammu

August: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Tuesday said that entire Valley has been put on high alert following the Fidayeen attack on District Police Lines (DPL) in Pulwama last week.

Khan was answering a question from INS after unconfirmed reports of  high alert sounded in Srinagar following intelligence inputs that Jaish e Mohammad may carry out attacks on security installations in coming 7 days.

“We have intelligence inputs about a group of Jaish militants have infiltrated into the valley to carry out attacks  on security installations, so we have put entire Valley on high alert,” Khan said adding “there was no specific reason to put Srinagar on high alert,” he said.

Four CRPF and four J&K police personnel and three militants were killed in pre-dawn strike on District Police Lines Pulwama.

JeM had claimed responsibility for the attack.
