Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday asked treasury officers to receive salary bills for present month upto 6.00 PM on August 28 and disbursed them on the same day or the next working day.
“In relaxation of Rule 4.1(1) of J&K Financial Code Volume-I, it is hereby ordered that salary of Government Employees for the month of August 2017 shall be drawn and disbursed to them on 28.08.2017,” the government said in an order issued here. “Treasury Officers are directed to receive salary bills for August,2017 upto 6.00 PM on 28.08.2017 and all bills received upto given time and date shall be disbursed on the same day or the next working day,” it added.
The decision to provide the August salary to the government employees on 28 of the month has been taken in view of the Eid- ul-Azha being celebrated on September 2.
An official spokesman said that the orders in this regard were issued by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, by responding to the demand of the employees of the state government.
She directed the preponement of release of salary for the month to August 28 and gave the direction on a proposal moved by the Finance Department in this regard on weekend.
