Div Com asks officers to expedite rehabilitation process for Dal dwellers

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, on Saturday asked concerned authorities to speed up the rehabilitation process for Dal dwellers and clear the pending cases immediately.
In order to settle the rehabilitation plan for Dal dwellers, Khan chaired the 106th High Level Committee (HLC) meeting of LAWDA regarding capping of plots.
An official spokesman said that the meeting was informed that the plots will be provided against the structures at Abi Nowpora and Abi Karpora, which are to be removed under the Dal Development and Lakes & Waterways Development programmes.
The plots have been capped as per the requirements and convenience of the people being shifted from the Dal areas, the meeting was informed.
During the meeting, various cases regarding allotment of plots to Dal dwellers for rehabilitation at Rakhi Arath were approved.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, VC LAWDA, VC SDA, Chief Engineer UEED, Chief Town Planner, Joint Commissioner SMC, Executive Engineer Lake Division I, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
