Addressing media persons Abdul Rashid Shiekh of the JKLF said that the attempts to abrogate Article 35 A, which provides protection to the unique identity of the state is a part of a larger conspiracy by the BJP led government to change the demography of the state.

Protesting JKLF activists said that those leaders  ho used to say that Kashmir’ s future is safe and prosperous with  the Indian state have been exposed today ‘as they themselves are protesting against the move to abrogate Article 35 A.’

“Under a well thought out plan the Indian state by scrapping Article 35A wants corporate giants like Tata and Adani to take control of our tourist spots. India wants to create Isreal type settlements here to change the demography and alter the disputed nature of Jammu& Kashmir. However we would oppose the move tooth and nail,” he added.

Noor Mohammad Kalwaal of the JKLF condemned the killing of Shahid Ahmad Mir, a BA final year student of Tarathpora village of Handwara killed allegedly in a fake encounter by the Indian army on Tuesday.

He also condemned the frequent NIA raids on the traders and pro freedom leadership from the past few months.

Later the protesters dispersed off peacefully
