Srinagar: In at least ten villages Cordon and Search Operation, CASO, launched by government forces is underway in Shopian district of South Kashmir.
According to police sources CASO began around 10 am and is a joint operation of 62 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group, Central Reserve Police Force and jammu and Kashmir police.
“The operation has been launched to flush out militants, till now no contact has been made with militants,” sources told INS.
According to sources the operation is underway in Chanpora, Mantribug, Zaipora, Pratabpora, Takipora, Ranipora, Dangam, Wangam and Keller areas of Shopian.
