Scattered light rains forecast in Kashmir, dry weather in Jammu

Srinagar: South Kashmir has been made into a ‘Killing Zone’ and youth are being killed in phased manner said Chairman Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday here.

Mirwaiz was delivering Friday sermon in historic Jama Masjid after two months of house detention.

“If Govt of India thinks that by taking a hard position on Kashmir and by killing and maiming people, they can suppress the movement then they are living in a fools paradise,” Mirwaiz said.

According to Mirwaiz people of Jammu and Kashmir have been ‘sacrificing their lives for the past seven decades for the fundamental right to self-determination.’

Mirwaiz in his first speech after two months, also took a dig on National Investigation Agency, calling the arrests and raids by the agency a program to ‘malign the pro freedom leadership.’

“We want to make it clear that Kashmir movement is an indigenous movement and it is not sponsored by any country as the Indian media through its malicious propaganda claims,” he said.
