District Commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba Ayub Lelhari was killed in an encounter with government forces in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.

The exchange of fire took place in Bunderpora village of Pulwama.

“Ayub Lelhari district commander LeT eliminated in Pulwama. Excellent work boys,” tweeted Director General of Police Shesh Paul Vaid.

According to sources Ayub was categorised as A++ militant.
