Srinagar: Expressing serious resentment and concern for the shifting of incarcerated resistance leaders, Advocate Shahidul Islam, Ayaz Akbar, Farooq Ahmed Dar, to Delhi’s Tihar Jail and questioning of the wife of senior resistance leader Shabir Ahmed Shah by the Enforcement Directorate, Hurriyat Conference (M) said that such repressive measures have failed in the past and won’t succeed ever in muzzling the genuine struggle of people of Kashmir by using unlawful, immoral and undemocratic means.
In a statement to KNS, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman said that there is no justification in quizzing the wife of Shabir Shah who had just gone to meet her husband and was detained in a police station which amounts to serious violation of the dignity of the women and the legal procedure laid down by the law for questioning by the police a woman in connection with any matter besides being a serious human rights violation.
He said to defame the Kashmir’s genuine political struggle Delhi is using undemocratic and illegal means through NIA and ED by going for a wave of arrest spree of resistance leaders on frivolous charges just to build pressure on the resistance camp to abandon representing people’s aspirations. He said the NIA and ED move is aimed at damaging the credibility of the resistance leadership in Kashmir.
Spokesman paid tributes to slain militant martyred in an encounter at Samboora, Pampore stating that people of Kashmir are offering priceless sacrifices for a sacred cause and these sacrifices won’t go in vain as it is because these sacrifices, Kashmir issue is echoing at the world forums, where an opinion is building that without the resolution of this issue, peace was impossible in the south Asian region.
Hurriyat (M) Spokesman also strongly condemned the use of force against peaceful protestors in Pulwama stating that government continues with its iron fist policy against people who are not even allowed to raise their voice peacefully and instead are showered with pellets and bullets by the government forces, which is highly condemnable.
