Shutdown in Shopian continues against ‘disappearance’ of youth

Anantnag: A shutdown was observed for the second consecutive day in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district against the killing of a militant and a civilian.
On Thursday late night, Hizb militant Yawar Nissar and civilian Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat of Arwani Bijbehara were killed at Kanelwan Bijbehara in a gunfight.
Reports said that Anantnag town and its adjoining areas remained shut while clashes erupted at different places of the town.
Eyewitnesses said that clashes erupted amid shutdown in Lal Chowk, Sherpora, Achajipora, Janglat Mandi and Achabal Adda localities of the old town of Anantnag. (CNS)
