Governor and Bukhari review the educational scenario

SRINAGAR: Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Minister for Education, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Sh. Bukhari apprised the Governor about his just concluded tour to review the functioning of schools in the Jammu region and the various initiatives taken by the Education Department to upgrade school education which are already under implementation, and which particularly focus on providing quality infrastructure and improved instruction in the schools and colleges.
Governor discussed with Mr. Bukhari the varied challenges facing the school and higher education arenas in J&K and the need for most urgent steps being taken to ensure against any proliferation without first fully equipping and effectively operationalising the entire existing educational infrastructure.
In the context of the security environment in the State Governor reiterated his serious concern that the Administration must take all required steps to ensure that the educational interests of the entire student community are vigorously promoted and protected and, under no circumstances, should the future careers of the youth allowed to get exploited or jeopardized in any manner whatsoever.
Governor and Mr. Bukhari also discussed the other challenges facing the State and the current status of GST Act enforcement. Governor advised timely action to remove all toll and tax barriers in the State.
