Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal Sunday said that so-called rulers by prolonging the imprisonment of JKLF ailing chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik are actually playing with his life. He said that on one hand they talk of so-called democracy and on the other hand have unleashed an unprecedented spree of arrests and banned even simple press conferences of resistance leaders.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kalwal while condemning the prolonged imprisonment of JKLF ailing chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that from last many years especially from last one year arresting Yasin Malik and putting him in jail has been a common exercise of so-called rulers.
He said that out of last 360 days JKLF chairman has been kept in jail or police custody for more than 200 days and he was arrested more than 25 times during this short period.
Even during the days he was not in jail or police custody, he remained under strict police scrutiny and many a times had to go underground to participate in peaceful political programs. Repeated arrests and prolonged incarcerations have inflicted serious health problems to him and recent health checkups have confirmed that he has serious problems visa vise his artificial heart valve and kidneys, added JKLF zonal President.
During recent medical examination by senior heart surgeon Doctor Anil Bhan jee and senior cardiologist Dr. Khurshid Iqbal sahib diagnosed that his artificial heart Valve is not functioning properly and has in fact developed some serious faults and that his gradient pressure Valve which is normally 25-40 mmhg has risen considerably and is touching 34 mmhg levels. Doctors have advised him to go for further examinations to ascertain and diagnose the exact position of the heart Valve but despite all these difficulties rulers and their police chose to keep him jail, Said Noor Muhammad Kalwal.
He said that recently on 21st July Yasin sahib was arrested while leading a peaceful protest at Dalgate and initially was sent to Srinagar central jail till 25th July on a judicial remand but on 24th July police obtained a fresh remand to keep him in central jail till 5th August 2017 where JKLF vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal and senior member Ghulam Muhammad Dar are also languishing with him.
JKLF leader said that on one hand so-called rulers are talking of high morals and democracy and on the other hand are behaving like worst kind of dictatorial regime by putting curbs on the movement of their political adversaries, putting young and old behind bars, confining ailing octogenarian leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani to his residence from years and even banning press conference of Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq and stopping him from leading prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
Noor Muhammad Kalwal asked that how can these so-called rulers claim democracy and morality after caging political leadership and even banning press conferences in which a person intended to reply media trail launched against him. On one hand they say that arresting resistance leaders is no solution and that Kashmir needed a solution but on the other hand are busy slapping young and old with black law PSA and arresting and handing over resistance leaders to NIA and Enforce Department for being jailed and maligned.
JKLF zonal president said that by these sugar coated and deceitful statements PDP rulers actually want to hoodwink public opinion and deceive common people of Jammu Kashmir but they should know that they and their double faced politics stand totally exposed now.
He said that if these so-called democratic rulers believe in what they say then why they are putting resistance leaders in jails and under house arrests. Why are on daily basis young and old being sent to jails under PSA and why are they imposing restrictions on peaceful political programs and banning even press conferences.
He said that the reality of these rulers is that they are stooges and tools of Indian oppression and deployed to serve and safeguard the interests of India and this is why they lack shame and pride and are ever ready to do whatever their masters in Nagpur and Delhi command them to do.
Kalwal said that this blatant and corrupt attitude of so-called rulers is undemocratic and unethical and responsible for pushing our new generation to the wall but these tyrants should remember that the people of Jammu Kashmir will keep resisting their tyranny and oppression.
He cautioned the so-called rulers that if any harm is done to incarcerate JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik or any other leader or activist, the responsibility of ill-consequences will lie on their shoulders only. (KNS)
