Banihal: National Conference District President Sajjad Shaheen on Wednesday slammed PDP-BJP duo for plunging Jammu and Kashmir into unprecedented political uncertainty and sowing seeds of discord among people.
“The coalition seems to have been tailored to implement a peculiar agenda, which is why the governance is at the lowest ebb and development has taken a nose dive during the past three years”, Shaheen said at a function held here this afternoon.
He said deceptive politics and disruptive posturing of the PDP-BJP has cost the state dearly, not only in terms of gap between the people widening but also performance of the administration getting a huge dent due to lack of political direction.
Shaheen expressed concern over erratic utility services and scarcity of rations at the sales outlets. He made a particular reference of withholding levy sugar to the entire rationed population and said that the scenario is quite dismal in remote and far off places with the rations either out of stock or of the substandard quality. He said there is no accountability in the administration as a result of which people were suffering adversely.
The District President highlighted the problems faced to the people of Ramban district in general and the Banihal Assembly Constituency in particular, saying these are accumulating with each passing day, as the coalition government continues to be clueless about governance. He said the governance deficit has cost the state dearly.
On this occasion, Adv Samiullah Deing, a close associate of the BJP, joined National Conference along with his associates.
Welcoming Deing into the party fold, Shaheen exuded confidence that with the jointing of public spirited people National Conference will be further strengthened at the grass roots level. He hoped that the new entrants would help in highlighting people’s problems and seeking their redressal at the appropriate levels.
Samiullah and his associates were profusely greeted by the senior district functionaries including Sr District Vice President, Mohammed Afzal Wani, Siraj-ud-Din, Mohammed Sadiq Baik, Block President Neel, Ghulam Rasool Deing, District Secretary Youth NC, Mohammed Musharraf Naik, Block President Youth Banihal, Mukhtar Ahmed Sheikh besides Baber Wani and others.
