Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) on Saturday said that National Investigation Agency (NIA) has once again served notices to Tehreek-e-Huriyat leaders including Mohammad Altaf Shah and Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal and asked them to attend Humhama camp on Monday (July 24).
The spokesman according to the statement issued to KNS said that earlier, the NIA had called Altaf Ahmed Shah to Delhi where he was subjected to questioning for several days.
Giving details Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that on Eid ul Fitter both leaders returned to Valley, however, Altaf Ahmad Shah and Meraj-u-Din were again served notice from NIA.
“Both were preparing to leave for Delhi and even had made necessary arrangements and reserved their tickets, however were arrested by state police under section 107 and 151 and after serving detention for 20 days were released on July 17th,” he said.
Spokesman said on 18th of this month, NIA once again issued notices to Altaf Ahmad Shah, Peer Saif Ullah and Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, asking them to attend Humhama office on 24th July.
Recently, the NIA raided several offices and residences of pro-freedom leader’s political activists and traders ‘after a video clip went viral showing Naeem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar (Bita Karate) and Ghazi Java Baba.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) while commenting over the thrashing incident of police personnel by army men in Ganderbal said that it serves an eye-opener that even men in uniform are not secure and illustrates the grave situation, the common civilians in state are facing.
“It serves a bitter lesson for those officials and officers who for medals & material gains behave as more loyal than king,” said spokesman.
Huriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that these army personals under their notion of ‘’national interest’’ treat every Kashmiri including these police personnel as creatures and don’t feel shame or shy to inflict every type of brutality.
Spokesman while ridiculing the statement of former Chief Minister Omer Abdullah, wherein he has demanded punishment for erring army personnel, said that “these arrogant forces personnel even after committing act of murder can’t be prosecuted because they enjoy license under the garb of AFSPA and Disturbed Area Act.”
Spokesman reminded Omer Abdullah about an incident in year 1980 and said that “when large contingent of forces personnel came out from Tattoo Ground and thrashed people to pulp and ransacked properties worth millions.”
The spokesman said that at that time Late Sheikh Mohamad Abdullah was managing the state affairs, but he could do nothing though no AFSPA like law was in force.
Spokesman said that “state is virtually reeling under martial law and hence in this lawless land no rule of law exists.” (KNS)
