Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman while strongly condemning the crushing of a minor student girl under the speedy army vehicle at Zainapora, Shopian, has said that forces sans any accountability continue the killing spree in Kashmir this or that way.
In a statement issued to KNS, he said, what was more horrible that when the people of area started protesting against the incident, government forces resorted to indiscriminate use of force including pellets, bullets, and stun grenades on them leaving more than 30 people including women injured.
The spokesman said innocent Kashmiris including kids are being crushed to death and people are not even allowed to mourn or to protest, instead those raising their voice against injustice, are showered with pellets and bullets. The force’s action on peaceful protestors in Zainapora, is highly condemnable.
The spokesman also condemned the arrest spree of youth in Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam where dozens of youth are detained every day. He said people of South Kashmir districts are being subjected to worst form of suppression, which is extremely condemnable.
Meanwhile the spokesman castigated the government over the continuous house detention of APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq thereby barring him from carrying out his social, religious and political activities and has termed it as political vendetta. He also condemned the detention of senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza in police station Sherbagh, Islamabad.
The spokesman urged people to make successful the July 21 program of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) of holding a peaceful sit in at UN Office Sonwar and observing a complete shutdown across Kashmir against killing of youth, unabated rights violations, raids and caging pro-freedom leadership.
