Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) strongly condemned the inhuman and shameful act of not allowing its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to offer the Nimaz-e-jinazah of his maternal Uncle Tariq Umar Buch who was also his close aide, and share the grief with his family members, by detaining him in a police station, when he defied his house arrest to participate in the funeral. Tariq Ahmed Buch passed away early Monday morning after a brief spell of illness.
Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that Mirwaiz asked the police personnel deployed outside his residence, to accompany him so that he could lead or at least participate in the funeral prayers of his uncle but his request was out rightly rejected by the police and instead he was taken to jail. The spokesman said the governments vengeful approach of illegally detaining the Mirwaiz at his home, suspending all his basic rights including the right to offering Friday prayers and now even barring him from participating in the last rites of his uncle who was also his close aide and sharing the family grief is dictatorial to say the least and deplorable.
Meanwhile, people in large numbers participated in the funeral of late Tariq Ahmed Buch and as he was laid to rest with moist eyes. His funeral was led by Khateeb of Jamia Masjid Moulana Syed Ahmed Naqshbandi (Imam Hai). The spokesman said that deceased was the retired deputy registrar at High Court Srinagar, an extremely down to earth, simple helpful and pro-poor person, who worked for the betterment of downtrodden people .The APHC spokesman said during his service period in the High Court, the deceased always remained popular for his good deeds and extremely helpful nature.
After his retirement Tariq sb was associated with the Nigeen office of APHC chairman as his close aide and worked with dedication and sincerity. The spokesman said the death of Tariq sb has come as a great personal loss for the Mirwaiz. The father of deceased, late Ghulam Hassan Buch was also a close aide of Muhajir-e-Milat Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah(RA) and an active member of Muslim Conference.
Meanwhile a condolence meeting for the deceased was held at party headquarters. The Fateh Khwani of deceased will be observed at 10: am at Bahu-ud-Din Ganj Baksh, Nowhatta on Thursday. (KNS)
