Srinagar: While hailing the statement of UN Gen Secretary Antonio Guterres in which he has stressed for a peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute through a dialogue, Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday said that we also believe that dialogue is the only option for the peaceful resolution of all issues and added that war is neither an option nor a solution to the Kashmir dispute.
We appeal UN Secretary General to take impressive measures for the resolution of this long pending dispute, added Geelani.
Kashmir dispute has multiplied human tragedies, said Geelani and added that because it is because of this lingering issue that millions of people are facing immense hardships and a state of uncertainty and instability is looming over whole South Asian region.
Although both countries are bound to seek peaceful settlement of the issue however neither agreement is being implemented nor any development is being observed on ground for its resolution.
Hailing Secretary General for his keen interest towards the issue, Geelani said that it is encouraging and from day first he is illustrating his interest towards the issue.
I on behalf of people of suppressed of Jammu & Kashmir express my gratitude to Antonio Guterres for his moral support to our cause, said Geelani and expressed hope that he will play a positive and effective role for its peaceful settlement.
Geelani while addressing authorities in India and Pakistan, asked to shun haughty and stubborn attitude and asked to play a constructive role for its peaceful resolution.
War and inconsistencies is no option instead they cause devastation and destructions, said Geelani & added that both India and Pakistan are nuclear country and any flare can prove extremely detrimental.
Appealing both countries to demonstrate restraint and wisdom, Geelani asked to resolve issue as per aspirations, wishes and expectations of people of state. Kashmir issue poses threat for world peace, said Geelani and added that it is proving a big obstacle in peace, prosperity and development in the region.
People in Jammu Kashmir don’t like any confrontation and are against war like situations, said Geelani.
I with sincere heart want to convey that we are yearning for peace and seek peaceful resolution to the long pending issue, said Geelani. However, India has a great role to play to create conducive atmosphere and they need to shun their stubborn attitude and accept ground reality with regards to Kashmir issue. (KNS)
