Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman and Head of Mutaheda Majlis-e-Ulema, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemned the assault and desecration of Jamia Masjid Islamabad at the hands of police and other forces, ruthless beating of worshipers including minor children and youth, terming it ultimate highhandedness stating that now the repression in Kashmir has started touching new heights and now even religious places aren’t spared.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mirwaiz said entering the Masjid, and resorting to vandalism by breaking window panes and rooftop of Jamia, amounts to direct desecration of the religious place and is worst form of state terrorism, which deserves all forms of condemnation.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) spokesman strongly condemned the beating of dozens of youth including minors at Islamabad at the hands of forces and arresting scores stating it seems that the government has left the people of Islamabad at the mercy of police and other forces and only one point agenda of instilling fear among residents by breaking bones of youth, is being followed.
The spokesman also condemned the arrest of minor son of Hurriyat Conference (M) senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and said that forces have been given unbridled powers which are being used to beat even minor boys of Kashmir as seen in Islamabad.
Paying tributes to three armed youth killed at Satura, Tral in Pulwama, the spokesman said that the blood spilled by the youth is the great asset of the Kashmir struggle and the leadership is duty bound to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end.
The spokesman while paying rich tributes to three youth killed in an encounter at Rudbugh, Budgam, Sajad Ahmed Gilkar, Aqib Gul and Tafazul Islam, said that an APHC delegation comprising Engineer Hilal War, Mushtaq Sofi, Peer Ghulam Nabi, M.Y Masoodi and Farooq Ahmed visited the families of the slain youth at Nowhatta, and Sanatnagar and conveyed the message of sympathy and solidarity on behalf of Mirwaiz and the entire Hurriyat Leadership.
