Srinagar: On eve of Martyrs day despite strict restrictions hundreds joined today AIP’s plebiscite march which started from Dastageer Sahab Shrine and ended at Martyrs graveyard Naqashband Sahab Srinagar.
March was led by party Supremo Er. Rasheed and participants were raising powerful slogans seeking plebiscite and taking pledge to fulfil Martyrs mission.
It is worth to mention that people from all walks of life from the adjoining areas of downtown defied restrictions and joined the march.
However police closed the gates of Martyrs graveyard and didn’t allowthe major part of the crowed to enter the graveyard.
Speaking on the occasion Er. Rasheed lashed out at Mehbooba Mufti and Omer Abdullah, accusing they have no right whatsoever to offer tributes to the martyrs of 13 July 1931.
He said “While Mehbooba Mufti’s collation partners didn’t even recognise the sacrifices of 13 July, NC leadership is itself confused as it has been always silent to call Maharaja an autocrat and anti-Kashmiri.
Mehbooba Mufti should resign if she has any moral dignity as it is for the third consecutive time that none from BJP appeared to pay tributes to these martyrs, the heroes of Jammu & Kashmir. BJP has yet again insulted their sacrifices and Mehbooba Mufti has nothing to defend.
Let Farooq Abdullah and all other main stream parties understand that the mission of 13 July Martyrs was never J&K becoming part of India and their mission will only be achieved if Kashmiris are given right to self-determination”.
Er. Rasheed reiterated that resistance leadership including Geelani Sahab, Mirwaiz and Yaseen Malik are the true custodians of sacrifices and those who claim and believe J&K to be India’s integral part have no moral right to pay tributes to these martyrs.
Er. Rasheed condemned restrictions on Hurriyat leaders and challenged Govt. to allow people peaceful political activities. Paying rich tributes to three slain militants killed in Badgam, Er. Rasheed demanded FIR against Nowhatta Police for forcing Sajad Ahmad to join militancy.
Er. Rasheed said “Militants are not terrorists though we may differ with them, they are seeking a resolution to Kashmir dispute. Let those be taken to task who had made life of Sajad Ahmad miserable and like a hell and had forced him to join militancy. A day will come when New Delhi will beg for talks and Kashmiris are not in hurry for the so called talks”.
Er. Rasheed asked J&K Police not to forget that they are not dealing with an ordinary law and order situation but facing a revolt against New Delhi’s history of broken promises and aggression. He said “While J&K police has every right to claim being part of the society but serving against the interests of their own people will destroy their image and will be always unacceptable”.
Er. Rasheed praised people of Downtown for their consistency and continuous struggle for right to self-determination.
He appealed people to show unity and work together for compelling New Delhi for a durable settlement to the dispute of J&K. later a procession was again taken from Mazaar-e-Shohada to Khanyar and participants chanted pro-resistance and pro-plebiscite slogans. (KNS)
