Srinagar: Appealing people to observe the anniversary of Shaheed Commander Burhan Wani as “Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ehad (day of reconfirmation of the pledge)”, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah said it needs to be declared (on that day) that the struggle will continue till the dawn of freedom.
Paying glorious tributes to Shaheed Burhan Wani and his two associates, Shah said their invaluable sacrifices are exemplary.
Shah paid tributes to those killed by occupational forces and said Kashmiris can never forget those who laid down their lives since last year. He said the ruling class which dances to the tunes of Delhi is responsible for the killings.
In his condolence message on the anniversaries of Shaheed Burhan Wani, Shaheed Sartaj Ahmad, and Shaheed Parvez Ahmad, Shah said, “Shaheed Burhan Wani will always remain alive in our hearts. He is a role model for our youth. In his brief lifespan, he changed the course of the ongoing freedom struggle. He would be an inspiration for generations to come.”
Shah said people’s participation in funeral prayers of these martyrs is a referendum and an eye-opener for world. Hailing the parents of Shaheed Burhan Wani Shah said, “They gave birth to such a valour who made us proud. Shaheed Burhan Wani and his brother Shaheed Khalid Muzaffar Wani are the shining stars of our freedom movement and we are committed to the mission for which they sacrificed their lives.”
“The wounds of 2016 are still afresh in our minds and hearts and we cannot forget those children who were killed, maimed and blinded by brutal forces. We pay tributes to the resilience exhibited by those who were arrested and continue to languish in jails and are subjected to political vengeance by the puppets of Saffron brigade,” he said.
Shah said in 2016, many including women were martyred in their homes. He said the orders of probes into the killings also proved to be mere eyewash.
“A lecturer Bashir Ahmad Monga was beaten to death after he was dragged from his house. Similarly, in Saidapora, Batamaloo, and Bemina, three children were killed by pellets; a girl of Kulgam Yasmeena Rehman was killed after she was fired from a close range. There are several such incidents that depict the brutal face of occupational forces,” he said. (KNS)
