Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that They extend full support to the JKCC (J&K Coordination Committee) a coalition of trade bodies and civil society experts in whose sense of judgment we have full faith and extend support to their protest programs, in the wake of JK Governments decision to implement GST in Jammu and Kashmir. Mirwaiz said that people of Kashmir will tooth and nail oppose all moves aimed at eroding the special status of J&K and in turn affecting the disputed nature of Kashmir. Mirwaiz said that unless the grave apprehensions and serious concerns raised by the JKCC with regard to the manner and motive of the law being implemented here is satisfied, any attempt to implement the law will be met with stiff resistance by the leadership and people.
Mirwaiz condemned the highhandedness of the state against the protesting traders and members of JKCC by arresting them and foiling their peaceful protest .He said it is deplorable that every move to raise our voice on any matter is met with force and repression.
Meanwhile Mirwaiz also strongly condemned the indiscriminate firing at Bahmanoo Pulwama on protestors in which many people were injured and property damaged. Mirwaiz said if Government of India would shun its obduracy and state repression and take steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute, people would not be forced to hit the streets and loss of lives and property could be avoided and peace could return to the subcontinent particularly to Kashmir.
