Div Com reviews rehabilitation plan for displaced families

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened a meeting to review the rehabilitation plan of various displaced families.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Chief Engineer I&FC, Vice Chairman Srinagar Development Authority, Deputy Director Planning, revenue officials and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that a total of 500 families will be rehabilitated under the plan including 350 families on both sides of river Jhelum from Dubji Ghat to Cement Bridge, 11 families of both sides of river Jhelum at Pandrethan and Athwajan, 20 families of fire sufferers of Abi Karpora Dal, and 119 families of the left out dwellers of Tsunt Kul.
On the occasion, the Div Com constituted a Committee of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Vice Chairman SDA, Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Department and Vice Chairman LAWDA for conducting a fresh survey of the eligible families and asked them to submit a report accordingly within 10 days.
Khan said that Chief Minister is very keen to rehabilitate these downtrodden families on priority and steps need to be taken to fast-track the entire process.
He also directed SDA officials to formulate a conceptual plan of designing of new colony at Cluster Township at Rakhi Gundi Aksha, and development of Common facility centre, parking area, proper road, water and electricity connections and other facilities there so that these people do not face any kind inconvenience.
