Former bureaucrat O N Dhar passes away

NEW DELHI: A well known person from J&K and former bureaucrat Mr O N Dhar passed away in a New Delhi hospital early this morning. He was 89.
Mr Dhar was Principal Secretary to former Chief Minister late G M Sadiq.
During his illustrious career, Dhar held the posts of Director Industries and Commerce, Secretary Revenue, Commissioner/Secretary Tourism and Secretary to late Governor L K Jha.
He was with late Mr Sadiq from 1964 till his death in December 1971.
During the Quit Kashmir movement, ON Dhar was detained for 13 months following the arrest of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
Minister for Works, Mr Naeem Akhtar has condoled the demise of O N Dhar.
In a statement, Akhtar said he had a long association with Dhar who served in the State with distinction and was known for his integrity and hard work.
Akhtar extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
