Srinagar: Reiterating that accession of J&K with India is not subject to Article 370 but to the outcome of result of plebiscite, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has asked Omer Abdullah not to dilute and confuse an internationally recognised dispute by talking about Autonomy which had never any relevance from the day of accession.
In a statement issued today, Er. Rasheed said “NC, PDP and others have been confusing the real issue by talking that J&K is a political problem, as the fact of the matter is that nobody is denying that J&K is a political problem, but the dispute is what has to be the solution of the problem. Neither Maharaja’s accession with New Delhi nor any resolution or constitutional amendment passed by the state Assembly to dilute the disputed nature of Jammu & Kashmir, carries any weight unless UN resolutions are not either implemented, withdrawn or declared null and void.
Omer Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and other main stream leaders need to accept the fact that J&K Assembly or Indian Parliament can never ever supersede United Nations resolutions as there is a huge difference between an International Forum comprising all sovereign independent countries and parliament of a country or a local Assembly of a dispute area.
Besides the way New Delhi and elected public representatives of the state have disgraced state Assembly from time to time and eroded its credibility, elected representatives have no moral authority to speak for India or seek a solution within the ambits of Indian constitution”.
