Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Saturday convened a meeting of its executive body (Majlis Shoora) at Hyderpora to assess situation after recent raids by NIA over the residences of pro-freedom leadership and present prevailing situations in Jammu and Kashmir.
The representatives of all its constituents including Haji Gh Nabi Sumji, Bilal Sidiqee, Gh Ahmad Gulzar, Mohammad Yasin Ataie, Ad Mohammad Shafi Rishi, Yasmeen Raja, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Mohammad Yousuf Nadeem, Hakim Ab Rashid, Gh Mohammad Nagoo, Mohammad Yusuf Naqash, Molvi Bashir, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Sheikh Zameer Ahmad, and Hurriyat spokesman, Ayaz Akbar attended said meeting.
The participants reviewed and discussed the prevailing grim situation in state and it was observed that Indian authorities instead of implementing a realistic and political approach for the resolution of issue, are following their obsessive dogma.
Syed Ali Geelani in his presidential address said that NIA has no role and it is unjustified and illogical to drag it in Kashmir. Referring to authorities, he said that they are using this agency as a war weapon against leadership and to defame and discredit freedom struggle.
They have crossed all limits and there is no legal justification for such arbitrary measures, said Geelani. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, its leadership and cadre is the main target for authorities, said Geelani and added that it is a pre-planned psychological crackdown, so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of their nation, thereby covering and shielding their atrocities and barbarism against common and unarmed people.
We have no hidden agenda and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat represents political aspirations of people as such people generously support us, said Geelani and added that our activities are open, transparent and based on political ideology.
Syed Ali Geelani categorically said that freedom movement is indigenous and while refuting the claims of Indian authorizes about Pakistan’s hand in state said that Pakistan as a party to the issue supports our right to self-determination on political, moral and diplomatic level.
Kashmir is an issue related to 1.5 million people and Indian leadership at national and international forums has accepted to respect the political aspiration of the people of state.
India and Pakistan both can’t thrust their will and only people in state have right to decide their political destiny, said Geelani.
He said that they will pursue their mission for right to self-determination until the Kashmir issue is resolved as per aspirations of people.
Referring to NIA raids, Syed Ali Geelani said that all these state sponsored tactics and coercive measures won’t deter us from pursuing our mission, nor these coercions, suppressive and aggressive measures will make us to surrender.
Syed Ali Geelani said that since last seven decades India despite by means of its might and repressive measures, yielded nothing and I with my sincere heart ask authorities to shun its obsessive approach and solve long pending issue through right to self-determination.
Syed Ali Geelani warned Delhi of dire consequences if all these harassing measures are not stopped forthwith and asked to desist from misadventure and stubborn approach. Kashmir issue is a reality and be realistic, asked Geelani while addressing Indian authorities and stressed to solve issue as per aspirations of people.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that in its statement issued on June 09, the word” tripartite” was wrongly mentioned due to translation error. The original statements read as “negotiations”, however due to translation error it has been carried as” tripartite talks’’. We regret for the mistake committed. (KNS)
