JKPCC condemns BJP Govt over detention of Rahul Gandhi

Jammu: JKPCC has strongly condemned the BJP Govt. at the Centre and MP Govt. for the illegal detention & arrest of AICC vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi today and described it as highly undemocratic and dictatorial action in the largest democracy of the World.
Reacting sharply to the denial of entry, detention and arrest of Shri Rahul Gandhi, who was on way to express solidarity with the agitating farmers and express sympathies and condolences to the families of those killed in police firing in MP, the JKPCC President Shri G.A. Mir and all senior leaders, rank & file of the party in the state expressed full support to their leader and strongly criticized the highly undemocratic and dictatorial attitude of BJP governments towards the opposition in democracy. In an emergent meeting, the senior leadership of the party has described it as totally unacceptable in a democracy where the political parties especially opposition has a role to play to highlight the plight of people.
The Congress party has always remained committed to the cause of farmers of this country who are the backbone of the progress & prosperity of this nation. It was Congress party under the leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi who launched struggle for the rights of farmers on the issue of land acquisition and ultimately the Modi Govt. had to succumb.
The pick and choose policy of BJP to grant loan waiver selectively in one state or states for political benefits and spray bullets on farmers in other state/states, is highly deplorable. Those who charge Congress of playing politics over the issue, are unfortunately exposing themselves, as political parties owe a duty towards democracy and people and if to extend support to the agitating farmers and express sympathies with families of those killed in govt., action, is unjustified, then it will be very unfortunate situation for this country.
