SRINAGAR, JUNE 03: Divisional Commissioner, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today visited the Deaf & Dumb School, Ram Bagh, in Srinagar to review the facilities provided to students here.
Director Health, Director School Education, Chairman JKBOSE, Chief Education Officer Srinagar and other concerned officials accompanied the Divisional Commissioner on the occasion.
The Div Com was informed that the school is the only one in the Valley which provides free-of-cost education along with hostel facilities to the visually impaired students.
Reiterating Government’s commitment to state of art infrastructure, high class education among other related facilities for the visually impaired students of the State, the Div Com directed the Director Education to submit a DPR in regard to it for the school within a week so that the project can be finalized and work on it be started at the earliest.
He said the project will provide for modern facilities besides high class education for the children to enable them to become independent in their lives. It was said that hi-tech computer lab, sports facilities, laboratories, school building among other infrastructure will be the part of the project.
The Div Com also directed the Health officials to conduct monthly medical health check-ups of students at the school.
