Div Com reviews stock, supply position of Ladakh region

SRINAGAR, MAY 20: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of officers to review the stock and supply position of Ladakh region after the Srinagar-Leh road was opened for vehicular traffic.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Ladakh Affairs, Chief Conservator Forests, Directors of Agricultural, FC&CAD, Health, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture, MDs of SRTC, SFC, JK cements, SICOP, General Manager FCI, Representatives of Oil companies & truck unions and other concerned officials. DC Leh and DC Kargil attended the meeting through video Conferencing.
During the meeting officers informed the Divisional Commissioner that adequate stock of essential commodities is available in Ladakh and Kargil districts.
The meeting also held threadbare discussions on various issues regarding supply of ration, cement and other essential commodities to Ladakh region. It was revealed that 40 trucks loaded with essential commodities are plying the road on daily basis.
Reviewing the supply and stock position of essential commodities, Div Com directed the concerned authorities to ensure supply of essential commodities to Ladakh region so that people do not face any difficulty for want of basic amenities. He also directed officials of FC&CAD, FCI, Agriculture, Forest and other departments to start dumping of respective commodities to the region immediately.
Khan directed the JK Cement authorities to ensure adequate supply of construction material for carrying out developmental activities in the region.
Director Health Services, Kashmir informed the meeting that the sufficient stock of life saving drugs has already been supplied to the region and rest of medicines will be dispatched within a week’s time.
Divisional Commissioner directed the SRTC authorities to provide better transport facilities while carrying the essential commodities to Ladakh region.
