Srinagar: Two militants were Sunday killed in a brief encounter that raged between the forces and the militants in the forest area in Waripora village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to KNS correspondent, on specific information about the presence of militants in the forest area of the village, the search operation was jointly carried out by Police and 21 RR in the village.
Sources said that the militants opened fire on the forces, which ensued encounter during which two militants were killed.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani told KNS that two militants were killed in an encounter while their identification is being ascertained. (KNS)
