Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman on Saturday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health conditions of incarcerated resistance leaders including head of Dukhtarn-e-Millat, Asiya Andrabi and Fahmida Sofi.
According to the statement issued to KNS, blaming the authorities of violating all the democratic and human codes by keeping the ill leaders behind the bars, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman said it was ‘a classic example of political vendetta’.
The spokesman said, “The inhuman and cruel treatment by the state towards the ailing leaders was condemnable in all terms.”
Demanding the immediate release of all the Kashmiri prisoners associated with the movement lodged in Kashmir and outside jails, the spokesman said that there was no reason to keep them in prisons and should be freed immediately.
While condemning the use of ‘brutal force’ against the students across the Kashmir, the spokesman said police and other government forces were hell bent to ruin the career of students by lodging them in jails and filing frivolous cases against them.
The spokesman said the aggressive policy of state against the students was pushing them towards the path of protests which is wrought with serious consequences. Besides, the spokesman demanded the immediate release of all arrested students. (KNS)
