The new rates, which will be effective from July 1, 2024, see an increase from 50% to 53% of the basic pay for employees working under the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

The revised DA rates were confirmed through Government Order No. 28-F of 2025, issued by the Finance Department.

The order states that the arrears for the period from July 2024 to December 2024 will be paid in cash in February 2025, and the DA will be reflected in the monthly salaries from January 2025 onward.

The order also clarifies that the term ‘Basic Pay’ refers to the pay drawn in the prescribed level of the pay matrix, excluding any special pay or other allowances. Furthermore, any DA involving a fraction of 50 paisa or above will be rounded to the next higher rupee, while any fraction below 50 paisa will be disregarded.
