Srinagar, Dec 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF), under the leadership of its Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani, has urged the present government to take immediate action on the long-pending issues affecting five lakh employees and three lakh pensioners.

The forum highlighted delays in releasing Dearness Allowance (DA) and revising medical allowances, the non-implementation of a court stay on commutation deductions beyond 11 years, and the failure to regularize in-charge officers in the Education Department despite the SAC’s 2019 directive.

Administrative inefficiency has left many retired and deceased officers unconfirmed, while red tape, favoritism, and prolonged court processes continue to exacerbate the problems.

JKCSF demanded strict accountability, with financial losses recovered from the salaries of negligent officials, and calls for the revival of a grievance redressal mechanism.

The forum urged the government to address these legitimate concerns without further delay and deliver justice to the employees and pensioners.
