Police attaches property of a notorious drug peddler in Kulgam

Srinagar, Oct 26: In a relentless efforts to curb the menace of drugs, Police in Kulgam attached s property belonging to a notorious drug peddler.

A police spokesman said in a statement issued here that Police in Kulgam attached property (Double storied residential house) measuring 1465 Sq. Ft and 13 marlas of Land underneath the residential house (Value of more than one crore) belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Imran Ahmad Ganie Son of Late Mohd Ramzan Ganie resident of Nassu Badragund Qazigund, Kulgam under section 68-F(2) of NDPS Act 1985.

“The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The said drug peddler is presently detained under PIT NDPS act and is lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu. Pertinently, he is involved in Case FIR number 34/2024 of Police Station Qazigund,” Police said.

This action reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area have hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers, the statement added.
