Jammu, Aug 13: The police have claimed that it arrested at least nine persons involved in helping the infiltrated militants in different districts of the Jammu region.

Police said that one of the militant associates confessed during the questioning that they had helped three militants killed on 26 June this year in Gandoh forest area of Doda to reach at a safe destination in upper reaches.

On 26 June, three militants were killed in the Bajad forest area of Doda.

Police said that the arrested 9 militant associates had been receiving militants from across the border after their infiltration from International Border in Samba-Kathua Sector of Jammu division and then guiding them to the upper reaches of Udhampur, Kathua and Doda districts.

The kingpin of the module has been identified as Muhammad Lateef alias Haji Lateef, a resident of Ambe Naal, Kathua, who was helping the militants in taking shelter in dhoks after their infiltration from Pakistan.

The police said that a total of 50 persons living in dhokas in the mountains to graze their livestock have been investigated by police.
