Srinagar, October 1 : A militant was killed by his own associates during a scuffle that broke out near the house of a PDP activist who was shot by the insurgents at Shopian district of south Kashmir, police said Monday.

Police official talking to the INS over phone that one militant namely Showkat Kumar was shot dead by his own associates at Imam Sahab Shopian after they had an argument over shooting PDP activist namely Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh (50) near his residence at Huomhuna, Imamsahab at around 8:05 pm.

“Showkat wanted the militants to shoot Ramzan in his leg but they refused and this resulted in scuffle. The militants shot dead their associate Showkat Kumar of Trenz and he has died,”police said .DGP Dr SP Vaid said confirmed in a tweet that the militant was killed in scuffle.
