In 2 years, infra at Shahdara Sharief gets major boost: Dr Darakhshan

Rajouri, Mar 10: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi Sunday laid the foundation stone for Jamia Masjid at Ziyarat Shahdara Sharief in Rajouri.

She laid the foundation in presence of Waqf Board CEO Dr Syed Majid Jhangir (JKAS) & Executive Officer Waqf Rajouri Abdul Qayoom Mir (Retd JKAS) & prominent citizens of the area.

Dr Darakhshan Andrabi later laid foundation stone for Markazi Jamia Masjid at Rajouri also.

Later, she addressed the gathering at Rajouri and said that J&K Waqf Board has now become a strong organization and hence the developmental activities in all parts of J&K have been expanded on a big scale.

“During the past two years, infrastructure facilities at Shahdara Sharief have got a major boost. In whole of the Rajouri district, Waqf Board has taken up many new projects and all the projects will be completed within the stipulated time,” said Dr Darakhshan.

She thanked the people of J&K for their immense support to the Board in making its working transparent and auditable by the public.

“The resources of the Board belong to public and thus the money and assets have to be utilized as per the broader public requirements and needs. The reformative steps taken by the Board have yielded great results and the process will continue,” said Waqf Board Chairperson.

Earlier, she presided over the Annual Day Celebrations of Himalayan Education Mission & Himalayan College at Rajouri and released their periodical and distributed Himalayan Mission Awards to the civil services persons for their exemplary contribution to the society.

She was accompanied by Civil Aviation Commissioner & Secretary Civil Aviation, Planning & Monitoring J&K Aijaz Assad and the Chairman of Educational Mission Farooq Muztar.
