Snowfall at multiple places ends two-month dry spell in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 26: The fresh snowfall at multiple places have put an end to the two-month-long dry spell in the valley on Friday, bringing smile on the faces of tourism players.

According to INS, several places including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Gurez, Shopian, Pir ki Gali, Mughal Road, Doodhpathri and others experienced fresh snowfall.

The weatherman had predicted intermittent wet spell for rhe next few days, saying that the light to moderate snowfall is expected on January 29-31.

Since last evening, the snowfall started at several places, which has ended the prolonged dry spell, which lasted for nearly two months.

The dry spell had led to the reduction in water level and simultaneously caused further curtailment in the electricity as well.

Moreover, the fresh spell of snowfall has brought smiles on the faces of tourism.players, who were eagerly waiting for the whiteout to witness the arrival of tourists in the winters in large number like previous year.
